Hyundai has released the first official photos of the Casper, a new crossover vehicle. Casper is not named after the renowned friendly cartoon ghost, but rather after Bobby "Casper" Boyden, who developed the iconic skateboard-flipping technique in the 1970s. This feat occurs when the rider leaps and the board flips and spins.
In profile, the Casper has a muscular appearance. The Casper's front bumper has huge circular LEDs, and the fenders protrude significantly outward from the rest of the vehicle. The parametric taillights are merged with the rear windshield, while the circular reflectors mimic the front end's appearance.

Hyundai's new SUV is built on the K1 Platform, which also serves as the foundation for A-Segment vehicles such as the Hyundai i10 and the Kia Picanto. The Casper is 3,595 mm long, 1,595 mm wide, and 1,575 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,400 mm. These dimensions make it much smaller than Hyundai's B-SUVs such as the Bayon, Creta, Venue, and Kona.
Hyundai has not yet published any inside images.
A normally aspirated 1.0 MPI with 75 horsepower and a turbocharged 1.0 T-GDI with 100 hp will be available.
Engines can be mated to either a five-speed manual or a five-speed automatic transmission. The Casper will most likely only be available in front-wheel drive configurations.
In the next months, we should learn more about the Hyundai Casper. Hyundai hasn't said anything regarding Casper's availability in other markets, although it's anticipated to be sold to India.
