Volvo revealed new powertrains for the XC40 crossover in order to expand its range.
The first model called Volvo XC40 T4 PHEV uses a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine with 127 hp connected to an 81 hp electric motor and a 7-speed automatic transmission. The model offers 43 km of EV driving range provided by its 10.7 kWh battery pack. The average fuel consumption of this model is climbed to be 2.1 l/100km.
Pricing for T4 PHEV starts from $51,421 for the R-Design trim and $51,875 for the Inscription trim.
Volvo also revealed two new mild-hybrid powertrains for the XC40 called B4 and B5. These two engines will replace old T4 and T5 petrol options. Both models have a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.
The B4 model pumps out 194 hp and the B5 model can produce 246 hp. Both engines are connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
