Nissan X-Trail's fourth generation is Finally available in Europe. The Rogue was launched in the US back in June 2020, but the Japanese version, the X-Trail, didn't make its debut there until July of this year. Europe will now receive the midsize SUV. Three-row seating, optional all-wheel drive, and an electrified powertrain with a three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine are just a few of the characteristics the 2017 X-Trail offers when it arrives on the green continent.
In Europe, the Nissan X-Trail, which is based on CMF-C, is available in three different power outputs. The base model is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged variable compression ratio petrol engine that uses mild hybrid technology to produce fewer emissions. A lithium-ion battery houses the energy that the 12V mild hybrid system uses to provide extended idle stop, coasting, and up to 6 Nm of torque as required. Through the Xtronic CVT gearbox, the mill's 161 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque are entirely directed to the front axle. The mild-hybrid X-Trail reaches a top speed of 200 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.6 seconds.
The e-Power self-charging hybrid, which is available in 2WD or 4WD configurations, is the second engine. The wheels are not actually driven by the combustion engine we explained earlier. Instead, the 1.5-liter three-pot engine is used to produce the battery's required amount of electrical energy, which is then sent to the electric motor. Nissan claims that the X-Trail acts almost exactly like an EV as a result of this technique, providing its entire 330 Nm of torque almost immediately. With 201 horsepower, that e-motor can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 8 seconds.
Power is significantly enhanced to 211 horsepower in the four-wheel-drive model thanks to an additional 126 hp electric motor at the back. In this configuration, the SUV will finish the race with five seats in seven seconds and with seven seats in 7.2 seconds. The highest speed of the single-motor system is 170 km/h, while the 180 km/h top speed is possible with the dual-motor setup.
Nissan's e-4ORCE technology, which operates more quickly than a conventional 4WD system and offers more grip, regulates torque distribution and braking for each wheel. The e-Pedal system is included with the X-Trail e-Power hybrid, as it is with other Nissan electric vehicles.
The various X-Trail (Rogue) variants that are now offered all over the world are hardly distinguishable from one another. Ten colours and five two-tone tints are offered for the body.
Inside the cabin, a sophisticated 10.8-inch head-up display is coupled with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster for the NissanConnect infotainment system.
The ProPILOT with Navi-link suite from Nissan incorporates the newest ADAS technology, and the car has seven airbags as standard.
The sliding second row of seats, specialized air conditioning controls, USB ports for charging, integrated sunblinds in the back windows, and an available third row that makes the X-Trail a seven-seater are all advantages Nissan claims.
When the third row is not in use, there is space for 585 lt of luggage in the boot, which is located behind the hands-free tailgate.
The X-Trail starts at €38,080 in Italy, where it is offered in four trim levels, where it is already available to order in some European countries. Prices start at £32,030 for the entry-level front-wheel-drive mild hybrid with five seats and run all the way up to £48,155 for the top-of-the-line four-wheel-drive self-charging hybrid with seven seats in the UK market, where orders begin this month ahead of deliveries in October.
