Nissan is set to unveil its highly anticipated new-generation Patrol in the Middle East on Thursday, September 4th. The company has been gradually revealing details of the large SUV through a dedicated website, teasing its design and features ahead of the official launch.

The new Patrol maintains the familiar proportions of its predecessor, but with a refreshed and more modern look. Nissan has showcased the vehicle's grille, taillights, 22-inch alloy wheels, and twin-turbo V6 powertrain, offering a glimpse of what to expect. While the US market will receive a new-generation Armada, it remains uncertain how much of the Patrol's design will be shared between the two models.

Like its predecessor, the all-new Nissan Patrol shares its ladder-frame underpinnings with the Infiniti QX80. Despite their shared platform, the Patrol and QX80 have distinct styling features. The Patrol features a unique "V-motion" grille with a different pattern compared to the QX80, and its taillights are also vertically stacked and connected to the Nissan emblem through horizontal LED bars.

Inside, the Patrol boasts a luxurious interior with a three-row seven-seater layout and premium-upholstered seats with a massaging function.

Under the hood, the new Patrol will feature a more efficient twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine, replacing the V8 used in the previous generation. Despite the fewer cylinders, Nissan promises that the new engine will outperform its predecessor in terms of capability, performance, acceleration, and power delivery. In the Infiniti QX80, this engine produces 450 horsepower and 699 Nm of torque. The V6 will be mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox and a four-wheel-drive system.

The outgoing Nissan Patrol (Y62) has been on the market since 2010, with two facelifts during its lifespan. The new generation aims to strengthen Nissan's position in the competitive large SUV segment and challenge the dominance of the Toyota Land Cruiser J300, which was introduced in 2021.

Nissan's Global Head of Product Strategy and Planning, Ivan Espinosa, has confidently stated that the new Patrol will be "much better" than the rival Land Cruiser. This bold claim suggests that Nissan is confident in the new Patrol's ability to surpass its competitor in terms of performance, features, and overall appeal.
