For Ferrari enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the track-focused iteration of the 296, rumored to be christened the Versione Speciale, Novitec offers a compelling alternative: the N-Largo tuning kit. This comprehensive package caters to owners impatient for Maranello's official offering, providing a wider stance, more aggressive aesthetics, and a subtle power boost to the electrified supercar. The N-Largo treatment allows drivers to personalize their 296 GTS and elevate its performance before Ferrari's own enhanced version arrives.

Following the debut of the coupe-based 296 GTB N-Largo last year, the drop-top 296 GTS N-Largo inherits the same suite of modifications. Novitec's upgrades encompass a meticulously crafted carbon fiber widebody kit, larger wheels, a sportier exhaust system, and a modest increase in horsepower, all working in harmony to enhance the already formidable plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Designed by Vittorio Strosek, the N-Largo bodywork dramatically broadens the 296 GTS's profile. The new front and rear fenders extend the car's width by a substantial 120 mm at the rear, creating a more imposing and aggressive presence. Additional vents and intakes strategically placed throughout the bodywork improve airflow and cooling, while the redesigned front bumper incorporates a sharper splitter. An optional exposed carbon vented hood adds an extra touch of visual drama, further emphasizing the car's performance-oriented nature.

At the rear, the most striking feature is the ducktail spoiler, which can be exchanged for an optional fixed rear wing for those seeking even more downforce. A new diffuser complements the rear spoiler, enhancing both aesthetics and aerodynamics. The side profile of the 296 GTS has also been refined with redesigned mirrors, while the Novitec NF11 NL forged alloy wheels, manufactured by Vossen, make a bold statement. These wheels measure 21 inches in diameter at the front and 22 inches at the rear, and are available in a remarkable 72 color options, allowing for extensive personalization. Inside the cabin, Novitec offers virtually limitless customization possibilities, with Alcantara and leather upholstery available in any color imaginable, ensuring that the interior reflects the owner's individual style.

Performance enhancements extend beyond the visual realm. The chassis has been lowered by 35 mm courtesy of sports springs, sharpening handling and improving the car's stance. An optional front lift system is available to protect the carbon fiber splitter from damage when encountering speed bumps or other obstacles.

Novitec has also focused on enhancing the 296 GTS's auditory experience. The signature exhaust upgrade, crafted from Inconel with optional 999 fine gold plating, produces a more exhilarating soundtrack. The dual tailpipes are adorned with optional carbon fiber rings, adding a touch of visual flair to the exhaust system.

Under the hood, Novitec has massaged the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 engine, increasing its output by 38 hp. The electric motor remains untouched, but the combined output of the hybrid unit is boosted to 856 hp, bringing it closer to its main competitor, the Lamborghini Temerario.

While the added power is a welcome improvement, it is anticipated that Ferrari's own 296 Versione Speciale will surpass the Novitec version in terms of overall performance. The factory-tuned model is expected to benefit from weight reduction measures, enhanced aerodynamics, and a more finely tuned chassis setup, all developed and optimized by Ferrari's engineers in Maranello. Despite this, the Novitec N-Largo package offers a compelling and readily available alternative for those seeking a more exclusive and personalized 296 GTS.
