Unsurprisingly, Pagani's most recent creation is a show-stopper, having just been unveiled. Only eight of the new hypercar, dubbed the Imola Roadster, will be produced. It is an evolution of the Imola, a convertible that carries on the heritage of some of its most powerful automobiles.
In 2020, the Imola coupe made its debut as a tribute to the storied Italian racetrack. Pagani has been attempting to blend the Huayra Roadster BC's advanced technology, open-air experience, and track performance over the past three years.
Here, Pagani's engineering of the Imola Roadster for street use makes a significant difference. It tips the scales at a mere 1,260 kilograms before adding fluids.
The end result is a powerful roadster with a 6.0-liter V12 engine sourced from Mercedes-AMG that produces 838 horsepower and 1,100 Nm of torque, more than either of the cars that served as its inspiration. The top speed of the V12 is 350 km/h, and it is mated to a 7-speed Xtrac sequential transmission that has been tuned by Pagani.
According to Pagani, the body had to be redesigned in order to accommodate the increased cooling needs. This involved adding hot air outlets and enlarging the front intakes.
Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires are fitted to the Imola Roadster. The forged alloy wheels are wrapped in sticky rubber with dimensions of 265/30 R20 at the front axle and 355/25 R21 at the rear.
According to Pagani, the intention behind each and every line in the car is to give drivers 600 kg of downforce at 280 km/h. According to Pagani, the Imola Roadster can produce 2.2 g of braking force and up to 2.2 g of lateral force.
Both axles are equipped with Brembo's ventilated carbon ceramic brakes for maximum stopping power. The open-top supercar's double wishbone suspension system with electronically controlled shock absorbers is another impressive feature. Four extremely complex flaps have been added by Pagani to offer active aero assistance. In the meantime, the intelligent suspension works to lessen roll, dive, and squat for handling performance akin to a racecar.
The Imola Roadster's interior features intricate details that highlight the vehicle's mechanical nature, finely embossed leather, and carbo-wood trim, all of which are intended to delight drivers. Moreover, it has a powerful seven-channel audio system with speakers positioned directly behind your head.
Although Pagani doesn't disclose the price it will charge clients to have an Imola Roadster built for them, you can bet it will be in the millions. But constrained to a mere eight instances.
