Polestar published the official EPA fuel economy for Polestar 1. Polestar 1 is a PHEV coupe with a four-cylinder 2-liter turbocharged engine and two electric motors. Electric motors are supported by a 34 kWh battery pack. The combined power of Polestar 1 is 619 hp and 1000 NM of torque. According to EPA Polestar 1 can travel 83.6 km on fully electric mode.
Its fuel consumption in hybrid mode is 9-liter per 100 km but considering the all-electric range to the account, the number will down to 4-liter per 100 km.
Polestar is building only 500 unit of Polestar 1 per year and each unit cost $156,500 which makes it a direct rival for discontinued BMW i8.
For those who want a more affordable product, they can go with Polestar 2 with a starting price of $59000.
While Polestar 1 is a PHEV car, Polestar 2 is an all-electric car with 2 electric motors that pumps out 408 hp and 660 NM of torque. Polestar 2 can reach the range of 443 km relying on its 78 kWh battery pack.
