Skoda took cover from the new members of 2020 Oktavia as a G-TEC model with natural gas (CNG) engine. Skoda Octavia G-TEC uses a 9-liter gasoline tank alongside three CNG tanks under the body. CNG tank has a combined capacity of 17.33 kg of CNG.
Under the hood, there is a 1.5-liter TSI engine with 130 hp. The engine consumes 3.4 to 3.6 per 100 km. the combined gasoline and CNG fuel economy is also 4.6 liter per 100 km.
Skoda Octavia G-TEC can travel up to 190 km, relying on its 9-liter tank and has a total driving range of 700 km. the system will switch to CNG from petrol automatically as the fuel tank runs out of petrol.
In fact, Skoda Octavia G-TEC uses gasoline only when the engine is cold or the outside temperature is below 10 degrees Celsius. The G-TEC model also has a smaller trunk with 455 liters of capacity while the normal model trunk has a capacity of 495 liters.
