Introducing the 2024 Haval Raptor Hi4, a rugged plug-in hybrid off-road SUV set to make its official debut, possibly at the Beijing Auto Show later this month. Haval's general manager, Zhao Yongpo, has indicated that the development of this new model has been influenced by feedback from its users, leading to optimizations aimed at enhancing its performance and appeal.
Visually, the overall design of the new Haval Raptor remains largely consistent with its predecessor. The front fascia is characterized by a distinctive three-stripe grille adorned with the English Haval logo, while a robust silver bumper underscores its off-road capabilities. Moving to the rear, the taillights retain their recognizable round and rectangular design, with the "Hi-4 Haval Raptor" emblem prominently displayed. Additionally, the introduction of two new exterior color options, Storm Yellow and Ink Jiangnan Gray, further diversifies the vehicle's aesthetic appeal.
Inside, the 2024 Haval Raptor Hi4 will offer a new interior color choice, though the overall interior design is expected to remain similar to the current model. Details regarding potential upgrades to the vehicle's configuration have not yet been officially confirmed. In terms of advanced driver assistance systems, the current Haval Raptor boasts 11 sensors and employs a fusion approach combining camera and radar technologies, enabling advanced L2 driving assistance features such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance.
While specific dimensions for the new model have not been disclosed, the current Haval Raptor measures 4800 millimeters in length, 1916 millimeters in width, and 1822 millimeters in height, with a wheelbase of 2738 millimeters. Given its nomenclature, the 2024 Haval Raptor Hi4 is expected to be powered by Great Wall Motor's Hi4 plug-in hybrid system, comprising a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and dual electric motors, paired with a 2-speed dual-clutch transmission. However, detailed specifications regarding the battery capacity and electric range have yet to be officially released.
In March, the Haval Raptor achieved sales of 2,091 units, representing 7.44% of Great Wall Motor's total sales and securing the 93rd position in SUV sales, according to data from the China Passenger Car Association.
