In response to local market demand, LDV has introduced an eight-seat variant of its 2025 Mifa people mover in Australia. This new seating configuration is now available for the entry-level Mifa Mode, expanding its options beyond the existing seven-seater model. Meanwhile, the higher-tier Executive and Luxe trims will continue to be offered exclusively as seven-seaters, featuring two individual captain’s chairs in the second row.
Dinesh Chinnappa, General Manager of LDV Australia, confirmed that the company has been collaborating with its Chinese factory for some time to bring this eight-seat option to Australian buyers. He emphasized that LDV is excited to finally meet customer demand for greater seating capacity. "We have been working with the factory on an eight-seat option for some time and we are delighted that we can finally deliver this option to our customers," Chinnappa stated. He also highlighted that this expansion in the Mifa range further demonstrates the factory's commitment to the Australian market.
Pricing for the 2025 LDV Mifa remains consistent for the existing seven-seat versions. The newly introduced eight-seat Mode model is now available at a drive-away price of $47,990 for ABN business customers. In addition, LDV Australia has extended this special ABN pricing to private buyers for a limited time, but only for vehicles currently in stock. This promotional offer means private and business customers can purchase the base-level Mode seven-seater for $46,971, making it the most affordable new people mover available in Australia.
For those considering more premium options, the Executive seven-seater is currently priced at $55,671, while the flagship Luxe seven-seater is available for $63,501. This represents a discount of approximately $8,000 to $10,000 compared to their usual drive-away pricing for private buyers.
The updated Mode variants, including both seven- and eight-seat configurations, now come equipped with three-zone climate control and adaptive LED headlights featuring automatic high-beam functionality. Notably, the eight-seater version has a slightly wider front and rear track, measuring an additional 10 millimeters compared to the seven-seat models.
While the entire LDV Mifa range achieved a five-star ANCAP safety rating during testing conducted in 2022, the newly introduced eight-seat Mode variant has yet to receive an official safety rating.
All Mifa models are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 214 horsepower and 360 Newton-meters of torque. This engine is paired with an eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission and operates with a front-wheel-drive system. The Mifa is equipped with a 70-litre fuel tank that requires a minimum of 95 RON premium unleaded petrol. Its combined fuel consumption is rated at 9.3 litres per 100 kilometers, with CO2 emissions of 220 grams per kilometer. While this is higher than the fuel economy of a diesel-powered Kia Carnival (6.5L/100km) or its hybrid counterpart (5.8L/100km), it remains slightly more efficient than a petrol V6 Carnival, which consumes 9.6L/100km on standard 91 RON unleaded fuel.
The updated 2025 LDV Mifa range, including the newly available eight-seat Mode variant, is now officially on sale in Australia.
