The Chinese brand, NIO, kept us waiting for some time before the debut of its first electric sedan. Now it has finally unveiled the promised EV. The ET7 is finally here and it somehow reminds us of Lucid Air.
The ET7 is going to be powerful enough to make other opponents like Tesla kneel. The appearance seems like a super professional vehicle from a super professional auto manufacturer. So we think that the rival might actually kneel.
The appearance is simple and classy, yet kind of futuristic. At first sight, it might look a little bit like Lucid Air, which is not bad since Lucid Air is gorgeous. The more you look, the more you understand its uniqueness in design.
The ET7 features heartbeat taillights, which are the perfect choice for the sedan. It also comes with laminated glass roof, messaging seats (both rows), heating and ventilated systems and a 23-speaker sound system.
The 70kWh standard battery pack comes with a range of more than 500 km. The numbers for the 100 kWh battery pack and the newest pack are 700 km and 1000 km. The electric system provides the driver with 644 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. It hits the 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. We hope you understand how insane the numbers are for the company’s first electric sedan.
William Lo, the founder of NIO says that the sedan would be able to work with the company’s new autonomous driving technology. You can subscribe for $105 per month. The advanced system features an 8 megapixels camera and Nvidia processing chips, which are claimed to have a better performance than what Tesla offers. The EV will also be equipped with lidar sensors, which provide a 120-degree field of view and a range of 500 meters.
The company is currently working on the fastet battery swap service, which is called the Power Swap Station 2.0. The service automatically swaps the batteries in less than 3 minutes.
The pricing starts at $58,380 or 378,000 yuan. This number does NOT include the batteries. How weird is that? The battery is the most essential part of the vehicle and yet, you have to lease it. If you are willing to can the car with batteries, you must pay $69,200 (448,000 yuan).
