Toyota has introduced a new FX Special Edition for the 2025 Corolla model year, aiming to keep the popular compact car fresh and appealing. Despite the minor updates, the Corolla has faced inevitable price hikes.

The base model, the Corolla LE, now starts at $22,175, which is slightly higher than last year's price of $22,050. Additionally, the destination fee has increased from $1,095 to $1,135. This trend is consistent across the entire Corolla lineup.

For those seeking more features, the Corolla SE offers a larger 10.5-inch infotainment screen, power-adjustable seats, a revised front grille, and two-tone paint options. The SE is priced at $24,615, up from $24,490 last year.

The new FX Special Edition is based on the SE trim and adds unique elements like a rear spoiler, lowered suspension, and 18-inch satin black wheels. The interior features Moonstone sport fabric seats with orange stitching and a standard 10.5-inch screen. The FX Special Edition is available in Midnight Black Metallic, Ice Cap with a Midnight Metallic Black roof, and Underground with a Midnight Metallic Black roof. It starts at $26,500.

At the top of the Corolla lineup, excluding the performance-oriented GR Corolla, is the XSE model. Priced at $27,890, compared to $27,150 last year, the XSE comes with the larger infotainment display and a nine-speaker JBL Premium audio system.

All 2025 Corolla models are equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 169 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a CVT transmission. The base LE trim comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, a suite of advanced safety features, and 16-inch wheels.

While the 2025 Corolla offers minor updates and a new special edition, the price increases may affect its overall value proposition. Potential buyers will need to carefully consider whether the additional features justify the higher cost.
