The redesigned Nissan Kicks is now being sold in Japan. A new and enhanced e-POWER system is available with the upgraded Kicks.
The 1.57 kWh battery pack was powered by a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine that, in its first generation, generated 78 horsepower and 103 Nm of torque. A 127 horsepower and 260 Nm electric motor added more power. The electric motor's output has now been increased to 134 horsepower and its torque to 280 Nm.
Nissan has also raised the battery pack's capacity to 2.06 kWh and compared to the previous Kicks, fuel efficiency has increased by about 6.4%.
The facelifted Kicks model that was unveiled in mid-2020 for Japan and the US is substantially the same as the updated Kicks.
Additionally, the e-Pedal Step is stated to have improved driving comfort by reducing harsh acceleration and deceleration when the accelerator is let go.
The availability of a Kicks e-Power 4WD variant with an electric all-wheel drive system marks a new addition to the lineup. Additionally, Nissan has added an Intelligent Forward Collision Warning system as standard equipment on all trim levels, complete with an up-front radar sensor.
The central console and shift lever have also undergone alterations inside the cabin. For models with two-tone interiors, beige and orange tan is now also available. A brand-new model called the Style Edition has also been created; it includes a dark, chrome-looking grille and a luxurious brown interior as standard.
Prices for the redesigned Nissan Kicks in Japan range from $20,302 for the base 2WD model to $23,805 for the top-of-the-line Kicks 4WD Style Edition.
