Some days ago, Volkswagen had officially debuted Taos in the U.S. this car as is programmed, is going to replace the Volkswagen Golf slightly. This crossover is going to play an important role for the company. Also, not just in the United States, but also in some regions of the Latin American you can apply to buy one. But there are some differences.
As we are talking about the Volkswagen Tao in Latin American, you can feel that company differentiates between north America and the Latin region. Although the differences are minor, by looking at the Taos in the Brazilian market, the visual changes are noticed. For example, for the Latin version, VW used a modified front bumper diffuser. Also, the bumpers are reshaped. What is more in sight, are the LED light strip which goes ear to ear of the front grille.
Cabin has experienced some modifications too. For the Brazilian Taos, there is an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster. Also, customers has the opportunity to customize the options. Seats of this Crossover are comfortable and more important, enough room for leg-space.
The big surprise for the Latin is under the hood. When you eagerly lift the hood of the car to see the new 1.5-liter TSI engine (already available in several Volkswagen Group models in Europe), you become deadly disappointment. For the Brazilian Taos, the old engine was used. It is a 1.4-liter TSI with the output of 150-horsepower. Don’t get too nervous. The US model has just 8-horsepower more power. Moreover, in Brazil you can buy the six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
As it is reported the North America’s Taos are assembled in Mexico and the south Americas Taos come from Argentina. It is very likely that sales will start next year. but again, the U.S. buyers can have their Volkswagen Taos sooner.
