Volkswagen Unveils Updated 2025 Taos

Volkswagen has introduced the refreshed 2025 Taos, featuring several enhancements to its exterior, interior, and engine. While these updates offer improved performance and features, they also come with a price increase of up to $1,180.

Despite the price adjustment, the Taos remains a competitive option in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. All models now come equipped with a more powerful 1.5-liter TSI four-cylinder engine, delivering an increase in power from 158 horsepower to 174 horsepower. The engine's performance is further enhanced by a larger intercooler, a new gasoline particulate filter, and revised components like fuel injectors, piston rings, and turbo housing. Additionally, the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission has been replaced with an eight-speed automatic for smoother shifting.

Inside, the 2025 Taos boasts a larger 8.0-inch infotainment display, an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster, new touch climate controls, and a redesigned dashboard. These upgrades contribute to a more modern and user-friendly interior.

The base Taos S now starts at $24,995, up from $23,995 in the previous model year. The optional 4Motion all-wheel drive system adds $1,700 to the starting price. The SE trim has seen a slight price decrease, starting at $27,895 compared to $28,165 last year. The SE Black trim also offers a lower starting price of $30,145.

At the top of the Taos lineup, the SEL now starts at $34,695, representing a $1,180 increase over the previous model. The SEL is exclusively available with all-wheel drive. the 2025 Volkswagen Taos offers a combination of enhanced performance, features, and styling. While the price increase may be a factor for some buyers, the improvements to the engine, interior, and technology may outweigh the additional cost for many.
