In China, Volkswagen introduced a brand-new vehicle with cutting-edge looks and a ton of technology within the cabin, built on the MQB Evo platform. The Tavendor is a medium-to-large SUV made locally by the FAW-VW joint venture. It has dimensions of 4,936 mm in length, 2,015 mm in width, 1,756 mm in height, and 2,980 mm in wheelbase.
The grille's horizontal body-colored stripes, which resemble the LED element above the primary headlights, are what visually distinguish the front of the car. The rear end is evocative of the ID model range, but the clean profile has a window line akin to the Audi Q6, and the full-width taillights have LED graphics.
The vehicle in the photo collection is the R-Line variant, which includes sportier bumpers and big alloy wheels.
The 12.2-inch infotainment touchscreen and the 10.2-inch instrument cluster are housed inside the dashboard's digital cockpit. Other interior characteristics are the panoramic sunroof, the light-colored fabric upholstery, and the high-mounted center tunnel with an open storage compartment underneath.
The non-electrified 2.0-liter TSI four-cylinder engine, which comes in two power configurations, will power the Tavendor. The base model will generate 183 horsepower, while the more potent version will generate 217 horsepower. The engine will only be used in conjunction with the seven-speed DSG automatic transmission, which will enable the 4Motion 4WD system to transmit power to either the front wheels or all four.
Closer to the VW Tavendor's Chinese market debut, the price will be revealed. The anticipated starting price for the new SUV is $42,000, according to Car News China. The Tavendor is scheduled to go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year.
