As the Chevrolet Equinox EV moves into 2025, it brings with it increased power and a starting price of $34,995, which is further sweetened by an available $7,500 tax credit. This combination of affordability and efficiency makes the entry-level Equinox EV LT a highly attractive option, and it's expected to be available soon. The LT model will come standard with an impressive 11-inch digital instrument cluster and a 17.7-inch infotainment screen that includes Google built-in. Additionally, it will feature cloth seats, 19-inch wheels, and an impressive driving range of 513 kilometers.
In terms of safety, the Equinox EV LT is well-equipped with a comprehensive suite of standard driver assistance technologies. These include Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, Side Bicyclist Alert, and Rear Park Assist. Additionally, it offers Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and Reverse Auto Braking.
Beyond the entry-level LT model, the 2025 Equinox EV comes with more powerful electric motors. The front-wheel drive version will deliver 220 horsepower and 329 Nm of torque, marking an increase of 7 horsepower and 9 Nm compared to the previous model. Meanwhile, the all-wheel drive version is expected to generate 300 horsepower and 481 Nm of torque, offering a significant boost in performance.
Chevrolet is also making changes to the trim names for the 2025 Equinox EV. The familiar LT2 and LT3 trims are being renamed to “LT with Comfort, Active Safety 2 Package, and Convenience I Package” and “LT with Comfort, Active Safety 2 Package, and Convenience II Package,” respectively. Similarly, the LT2 is now simply referred to as the LT with Comfort, Active Safety 2 Package and Convenience I Package, and the LT3 is renamed to the LT with Comfort, Active Safety 2 Package and Convenience II Package. The previous 2RS trim is now called the RS, while the 3RS has been rebranded as the RS with Convenience II Package.
Although the new trim names might seem cumbersome, the higher-end variants are receiving additional features to justify their price increase. These upgrades include a head-up display and a rear camera mirror, contributing to an increase of approximately $1,100 compared to last year’s models.
