What's New in the 2025 Legacy Limited

Author: |

The 2025 Legacy maintains its pricing strategy, staying consistent with the cost of the 2024 model. However, there's a slight increase in the destination fee, rising from $1,120 in 2024 to $1,145 for 2025, resulting in a total price of $26,040.

While these adjustments may seem minor, the updates to the Legacy Limited trim warrant attention. Now included are features like a power moonroof, heated steering wheel, and an impressive 11.6-inch infotainment system with GPS navigation. Additionally, buyers will benefit from a Harman Kardon premium audio system and the DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System, utilizing a camera to monitor and identify drivers.

Previously, these features were bundled in a package priced at $2,060, so it's understandable that the Legacy Limited's price has increased from $31,945 to $34,005, representing a difference of $2,060.

Similar changes are evident in the 2025 Outback, which maintains its starting price of $28,895 from the 2024 model. However, the destination fee has seen a gradual climb, reaching $1,395 for the 2025 model year, up from $1,295 previously.

Corresponding with the Legacy, the Outback Limited receives added equipment, resulting in a higher price tag. Starting at $37,855 for 2025, this is an increase from last year's price of $35,795.

Despite these alterations, the powertrain lineup remains consistent. Drivers can expect the familiar naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter engine producing 182 hp and 238 Nm of torque, paired with a continuously variable transmission and standard all-wheel drive. For those seeking more power, there's the option of a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine, delivering a significant upgrade with 260 hp and 375 Nm of torque.
