Mazda has introduced its updated 2025 BT-50 ute range with increased prices across a more streamlined lineup. This change follows the discontinuation of manual transmission options and the removal of the flagship Thunder variant, though the Thunder may make a comeback in the future. With these updates, the Mazda MX-5 remains the only model in the brand’s lineup still offering a manual transmission, following the discontinuation of manual variants for the Mazda 2 in late 2023 and the Mazda 3 in May 2023.

As a result, the 2025 BT-50 range now consists of 15 variants, down from the 21 versions available last year. The base XS and XT trims continue to offer a Standard Tray option, starting at a price of $3021.63. The entry-level model, the 4x2 Single Cab Chassis XS, now starts at $36,400 before on-road costs, marking an $880 increase. Similarly, the XT version of the same body style also sees an $880 price hike, now priced at $39,400. Meanwhile, the Freestyle Cab Chassis is now available for $43,000, reflecting a $980 increase.

In the 4x2 Dual Cab Chassis XT category, the price increase is relatively minor, whereas the 4x2 Dual Cab Pickup XT and XTR versions are now priced at $48,210 and $53,790, respectively. Moving to the 4x4 lineup, the Single Cab Chassis XT has risen by $1230 to $47,250, while the Freestyle Cab Chassis XT now costs $51,000, a $1480 increase. The 4x4 Dual Cab Chassis is available in XT, XTR, and GT grades, now priced at $54,620, $59,650, and $63,070, respectively.

The 4x4 Dual Cab Pickup lineup is available in four versions: XT ($56,220), XTR ($62,750), GT ($66,170), and SP ($71,500), with price increases ranging from $990 to $3510. All models, except for the entry-level XS, are powered by a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine that produces 140kW and 450Nm of torque. The XS, in contrast, features a 1.9-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine with 147hp and 350Nm of torque. Both engine options are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. A notable addition for the 2025 model is the standard inclusion of an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, which now features wireless Android Auto alongside wire-free Apple CarPlay.

Standard features across the lineup include 17-inch steel wheels, LED headlights, a black cloth interior, and a suite of safety features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a reversing camera, blind-spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Upgrading to the XT grade introduces 17-inch alloy wheels and the more powerful 3.0-liter engine. The 4x4 versions also gain a locking rear differential and Rough-Terrain drive mode. Additionally, pickup models in this trim feature an assisted tailgate and rear parking sensors, while dual-cab versions benefit from rear air vents.

The XTR trim stands out with 18-inch machined alloy wheels, front LED fog lamps, auto-levelling headlights, power-folding mirrors, side steps, and daytime running lights. Inside, it features a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen with satellite navigation, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Pickup versions of the XTR also include a tow bar and a tubliner.

The current flagship, the SP variant, features a sportier, blacked-out aesthetic with 18-inch alloy wheels, a sailplane sports bar, side steps, fender flares, roof rails, and black accents on the door handles, tailgate handles, and side mirror caps. It also comes with a manually operated roller tonneau cover.
