The Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, a popular electric vehicle in China, is set to receive a significant upgrade with its fourth-generation model. This new generation will include both a five-door and a three-door variant, built on the Tianyu S platform.
The five-door variant retains the iconic round shape of its predecessors, but with a more pronounced three-dimensional design, featuring oval headlights, a concave front face, and a floating roof design option. The rear echoes the front with similarly shaped taillights. The car rides on 13-inch petal-shaped rims and boasts an increased length and wheelbase, providing more interior space.
Inside, the cabin features a modern design with an 8-inch suspended center control screen, a 7-inch full LCD instrument panel, and a double-spoke steering wheel. New features such as automatic parking and independent control for front and rear windows enhance convenience. Additionally, the car offers remote control, keyless entry, and dual speakers.
Powering the five-door variant is an electric motor delivering 40 hp, paired with a 16.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack. This configuration enables a CLTC range of 205 km and a top speed of 100 km/h.
The Wuling Hongguang Mini EV series has been a resounding success, consistently topping the sales charts for A00-level new energy vehicles in China. With the introduction of the fourth-generation model, Wuling aims to further solidify its position in the market and continue to offer affordable and practical electric mobility solutions.
