MG HS is one of the latest production of Chinese-British car maker and now for the year 2021, it gains a new entry-level variant with a base price of $29,990. This new entry-level base model which named Core is even $2000 cheaper than the current base model Vibe.
Under the hood, there is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that pumps out 166 hp and 250 nm of torque. Power sent to the front axle with a 7-speed DCT transmission.
The new MG HS Core comes standard with a 10.1-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, half-digital instrument cluster, rearview camera, 17-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, LED daytime running lights, halogen headlights, LED taillights, cloth interior trim, flat-bottomed steering wheel with control buttons on it, manual climate control system, a USB port at the front and two for rear passengers, keyless entry and start, power-adjustable and heated side mirrors, a four-speaker sound system, six-way manual seat for the driver and four-way manual seat adjustment for the front passenger.
This equipment list seems very good for an entry-level car but there is even more with the MG HS because MG has made it's Pilot suite active safety package standard for all HS trims. The MG Pilot consists of autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, traffic-jam assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, door opening warning, high-beam assists and traffic-sign recognition. With such a list of safety features, MG HS could manage to get a five-star rating from ANCAP.
The 2021 MG HS is now available with an unlimited-milage seven-year warranty and the first delivery will be by the middle of January.
