Toyota Sienta Hybrid Minivan Revealed In Japan

The all-new Toyota Sienta compact minivan with a roomy interior and the choice of a hybrid powertrain was presented in Japan. The new Sienta has a streamlined cabin with new practical features, shares the same TNGA-B construction, and has new safety features and better fuel efficiency.

4,300 mm long, 1,695 mm wide, and 1,670 mm tall is how big the Sienta is. These numbers closely resemble those of the previous year.

Toyota claims that there is now enough space in the cabin for seven adults to sit comfortably, despite the fact that the vehicle's length and width have not changed.

Inside, a new entertainment system with a display on the center console and a contemporary dashboard with a digital instrument cluster are both available. The climate control system has physical buttons, and there are several cupholders and plugs for small goods.

There are numerous storage compartments and USB connections throughout the flat cabin floor. Families' daily lives are made easier by a variety of ingenious solutions, like smartphone pockets on the seatbacks and bag hooks on the armrests.

Additionally, an air circulator system located on the roof makes the cabin's air conditioning system operate more effectively.

The 1.5-liter Dynamic Force Engine petrol engine is the only powertrain option for the Sienta. It is also available as a hybrid with the same combustion engine supported by one or two electric motors and a compact lithium-ion battery. Through a Direct Shift CVT, which simulates gear changes with a 10-speed Sport Sequential Shiftmatic system, power is either sent to the front wheels or all four (E-Four).

According to the WLTP cycle, the electrified powertrain achieves a remarkable fuel economy of about 5.5 liters per 100 kilometers (43 mpg). Along with the hybrid, there is a hybrid with all-wheel drive and a base 1.5-liter gas engine.

Rigidity, NVH, ride, and handling all saw improvements because of the TNGA-B underpinnings. The new Sienta has a redesigned suspension with torsion beams in the back and MacPherson struts up front.

The latest Toyota Safety Sense ADAS suite, which includes features like the Advanced Park allowing semi-autonomous parking and the ability to capture video from the front and rear cameras in the built-in memory, comparable to a dashcam, is standard on all trims of the Sienta.

Early next month, Toyota anticipates having the new Sienta at its dealers in Japan. Prices range from $14,190 for the entry-level FWD model to $22,615 for the top-of-the-line AWD hybrid variant.
