The 2024 Bugatti W16 Mistral, with prices starting at a cool €5 million each, is Bugatti's final road-going vehicle to have the renowned W16 engine.

The Mistral is Bugatti's first open-top version of the Chiron and the company's first roadster since the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse was discontinued in 2015. It is called after a breeze in the south of France and a badge once worn by Maserati.

The W16 Mistral is powered by the same 8.0-liter, quad-turbo engine as the Chiron Super Sport 300+, but with a higher output of 1600 horsepower and a top speed of 420 km/h. Given that the Mistral has a roadster body, it is not surprising that it has a lower top speed than the Super Sport 300+.

The Mistral looks very distinct from the other vehicles in the brand's lineup but shares the same base and engine as the Chiron. The W16 Mistral receives a custom coach-built body with design features drawn from vintage automobiles, such as a curved windscreen. Additionally, the engine air intakes have been relocated to the roof.

According to Bugatti, lightweight 3D-printed titanium and aluminum have also been utilized in modern composite parts.

The Grand Raid's yellow and black color scheme, which Ettore Bugatti used on several of his own cars, is borrowed for the Mistral's debut model.

Inside, the Chiron's dashboard and interior fixtures are mostly copied, but the door panels include leather, a machined aluminum gear shifter with wood accents, and an amber "dancing elephant" sculpture that was modeled after the bonnet sculpture on the iconic Bugatti Type 41 Royale of the late 1920s.

99 automobiles will be produced, according to Bugatti, although owners shouldn't expect to receive their vehicles until early 2024.
