It was a couple of months ago that BMW announced its Competition First Edition versions of the 2021 BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M SUVs and now they are both available in Australia. As both performance SUVs are limited production models and the global production for each unit is limited to 250 examples so you shouldn't expect a reasonable price from Bavaria.
Australian pricing for the X6 M Competition First Edition starts from AU$264,900 which is equal to US$199,495 and for the BMW X5 M Competition First Edition, it starts from AU$273,900 which is equal to US$206,272.
Both models are powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that pumps out 616 hp and 750 nm of torque that is connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission and xDrive 4WD system with active M differential. BMW X6 M Competition First Edition and X5 M Competition First Edition can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.
The exterior can be ordered in Frozen Marina Bay Blue and Frozen Dark Silver bespoke paints and the 21-inch front and 22-inch rear wheels are also painted in Jet Black.
Other exterior highlights are carbon fiber side mirror caps, carbon fiber engine cover and a rear spoiler. The latter is only available on BMW X6 M Competition First Edition.
Inside the cabin, there is a bi-tone Silverstone/Night Blue BMW Individual Merino leather and features black Alcantara inserts, Sakhir Orange contrast stitching, Night Blue and carbon fiber trim, and ‘First Edition 1/250’ lettering available. Other standard equipment are panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, BMW Drive Recorder and rear roller sunblinds.
