Just a few months after Audi introduced the all-electric E5 Sportback in China under its newly rebranded all-caps AUDI name, the company has now revealed official pricing for the sleek EV. True to the current trend in the Chinese market, the E5 Sportback enters with surprisingly competitive pricing, even by local standards where electric vehicles are often aggressively priced. Audi’s approach with the E5 is clear and straightforward: combine the brand’s traditional German engineering and premium build quality with the cutting-edge smart technologies that Chinese automakers have become known for.
One of the most notable highlights across all versions of the E5 Sportback is its comprehensive driver-assistance suite. Each model comes standard with LiDAR, three millimeter-wave radars, 11 cameras, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. Together, this sophisticated sensor package enables advanced autonomous and safety functions, placing the E5 firmly among the most technologically advanced vehicles in its segment.
Step inside, and the futuristic theme continues. The cabin is dominated by an expansive 59-inch display stretching across the full width of the dashboard. This screen integrates digital wing mirrors and other driving information, giving the interior a highly modern, almost concept-car-like feel. True to Audi’s reputation for refinement, the rest of the cabin is finished in a minimalist yet luxurious style, with soft-touch leather and Alcantara surfaces. Convenience has not been overlooked either, as the vehicle features two wireless phone charging pads, allowing both driver and passenger to power their devices simultaneously. Deliveries are scheduled to start next month, although for now, the E5 Sportback is exclusive to the Chinese market. Still, given its balance of performance, tech, and affordability, Audi may well consider exporting it if customer demand is strong.
The E5 lineup will consist of four distinct trims: the Pioneer, Pioneer Plus, Pioneer Quattro, and Flagship Quattro. At the entry point is the Pioneer, priced at 235,900 yuan (approximately $32,800). It features a rear-mounted electric motor producing 295 horsepower and is paired with a 76 kWh battery pack, offering an impressive 618 km range on the CLTC cycle. Next is the Pioneer Plus, which remains rear-wheel drive but boosts output to 402 hp and introduces a larger 100 kWh battery. This extends range to 773 km and sets pricing at 269,900 yuan ($37,500).
Sharing the same price point is the Pioneer Quattro, which adds dual-motor all-wheel drive. It delivers a robust 518 hp, paired with an 83 kWh battery, providing 623 km of range. Sitting at the top of the lineup is the Flagship Quattro, starting from 319,900 yuan ($44,500). This performance-focused model comes with a 100 kWh pack and delivers a remarkable 776 horsepower. Capable of sprinting from 0–100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, it demonstrates that Audi is serious about combining raw performance with everyday usability.
With its combination of strong specifications, advanced driver-assist tech, premium cabin, and competitive pricing, the 2025 AUDI E5 Sportback represents a bold step in Audi’s Chinese EV strategy—and potentially a global contender if it makes its way beyond China.
