Ford revealed the 2021 model Bronco Sport as a new off-roader to compete with the Jeep wrangler. The 2021 Bronco Sport has very distinctive design with short overhangs which shows that it must have a good off-road capability. The Bronco Sport is a family friendly version of the 2021 Bronco.
Alongside with the retro design, the roof at the back is little taller so the rear passengers will have a better headroom.
Moving to the rear, there are Bronco Sport badging and glass liftgate which allows the driver to put stuff in the boot without opening the tailgate.
The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport measures 4,387 mm long, 2,088 mm wide, 1,890 mm tall and its wheelbase is 2,670 mm. In comparison to the Ford Escape, the Bronco Sport is shorter and narrower but taller.
Moving inside the cabin the Bronco Sport has a different design in comparison with the Bronco. There is an 8-inch screen on the dash. One of the new features inside the Bronco Sport is the sliding boot bed which can be used as a workbench. There is also a 400-watt inverter for electronic tools.
2021 Ford Bronco Sport Specifications
Under the hood. The 2021 Bronco Sport uses a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine. The three-cylinder turbo unit can pump out 181 hp and 257 nm of torque.
A more powerful version uses a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four cylinder with 245 hp and 372 NM of torque. All engines are connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission. There are paddle shifters behind the steering wheel for the 2.0-liter model.
With 5 driving modes, the Bronco Sport is a true off-roader. The car is also equipped with a Trial Control system which is a kind of off-road cruise control.
Other equipment ate rear twin-clutch locking differential, tuned suspension, softer springs, underbody protection, 17-inch wheels and all-terrain tires.
On the safety side, the 2021 Bronco Sport benefits pre-collision assist, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring system, rear cross-traffic alert, lane keep assist, rearview camera, auto high beam headlights, adaptive cruise control and steering assist.
The 2021 Bronco Sport with hit the market later this year with a base price starting from $28,155.
