The fourth-generation Pajero (Shogun) has been manufactured at the Sakahogi plant in Gifu, Japan, since 2006. It is one of the oldest vehicles currently on the market. However, its time has come to an end, as Mitsubishi will be shutting it down permanently.

This week, Mitsubishi unveiled the 2022 Pajero Final Edition for Australia. The Mitsubishi Pajero seven-seat four-wheel-drive has been allotted a final batch of 800 examples in Australia, all of which will be labeled Final Edition.

The GLS, GLX, and Exceed model grades will all be included in the Final Edition.

The 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Final Edition has no mechanical modifications, but it is powered by the familiar 3.2-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder with 189 HP and 441 Nm of torque, coupled to a five-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, and fueled by an 88-liter tank. The average fuel consumption is 9.1 liters per 100 kilometers.

The base model has seating for seven people, an infotainment system, and a reversing camera. The mid-level model gets 18-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers and dusk-sensing headlights, power-adjustable heated front seats, and Rockford audio.

After manufacturing ends in March 2021, only 800 Pajeros will be sold in Australia.

The 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero GLX Final Edition is priced at AU$52,490, while the 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Exceed Final Edition is priced at AU$62,990.
