Ford is working on the next-generation Ranger and the car will enter the market as the 2022 model. While the current model (introduce in 2018) uses 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel four-cylinder, ford promises a powerful version as a Ranger Raptor. The current turbo-diesel model with a towing capacity of 2,500 kg is more workhorse than a sport model but according to ford, the sport version will come with two engine options.
As reported, the next-generation Ranger Raptor will come with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine with 400 hp and 562 NM of torque. The engine is sourced from Ford Explorer ST. but those who want more power can go for 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with 450 hp and 690 NM of torque. Both engines come with 10-speed automatic transmission.
As the automaker hasn't officially confirmed these engines there is a possibility that the 2022 Ranger Raptor model to be available with 3.0-liter Power Strock turbodiesel V6 with 248 hp and 600 NM of torque.
Aside from the engine updates, the 2022 Ford Ranger Raptor will also have Fox sport shock absorbers, off-road tires, and larger brakes.
