Australia has seen the introduction of the newest 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-In Hybrid EV, and Mitsubishi Australia has revealed that there will be four trim levels available.
The ES model, which sits at the bottom of the lineup, includes standard 18-inch alloy wheels, cloth seat upholstery, a urethane steering wheel, and second-row seats that fold down in a 40:20:40 configuration with adjustable reclining. The Outlander is also outfitted by Mitsubishi with a ton of safety technologies, including front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, blind spot intervention, emergency lane keeping, lane departure warning, and lane departure prevention. The base trim is offered starting at AU$54,490.
The Aspire is the next model level, which includes 20-inch wheels, front and rear silver skid plate garnishes, privacy glass, LED fog lights, and silver roof rails. A leather steering wheel and more opulent chairs have also been added to the inside. Additionally, it includes electrochromatic rearview mirrors, rear cross traffic alert, multi-around monitor, automatic headlights, adaptive driving beam, rain-sensing wipers, power tailgate, wireless smartphone charger, and rear automatic braking. The minimum purchase price for the Aspire trim is AU$60,990.
A panoramic sunroof, gloss black B- and C-pillars, a 5+2 seating arrangement, quilted leather-appointed seat trim, a power passenger seat, memory seats, an aluminum gearshift trim, tri-zone air conditioning, and a nine-speaker Bose premium sound system are optional for the Outlander Plug-In Hybrid EV Exceed. The Exceed has a starting price of AU$65,990.
The Exceed Tourer is the top of the line. It includes capabilities for the driver and passenger seat massages as well as a two-tone external body color and two-tone high-grade leather inside. The Exceed Tourer, the most costly trim, costs AU$68,490.
A 20 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and two electric motors are combined with a 2.4-liter Atkinson cycle four-cylinder engine to power the Outlander Plug-In Hybrid EV. The engine alone has 131 horsepower, while the front and rear electric motors each contribute another 114 and 134. Mitsubishi's Super-All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) technology transmits the resulting combined 248 horsepower and 450 Nm to the pavement.
Beginning on August 15, dealerships will begin to receive the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.
