Peugeot unveiled a new 408 sedan in China. The Peugeot 408 sedan was first released in 2014, and it was given a minor redesign in 2018. The new 408 continues to employ the same EMP2 architecture as the previous generation 308.

The new 408 features redesigned appearance that makes it appear to be a four-door version of the 308. Similar to the new 308 and the facelifted 3008, the front end has been totally reworked, with aggressive headlights and the signature vertical DRL fangs on the front bumper. The grille has been enlarged, and Peugeot's new symbol has been added.

Like the bigger 508, LED taillights are joined at the back by a black strip. The bumper has been reshaped and the tailgate has a more visible integrated spoiler than previously.

The new 408's proportions have remained unchanged, with a length of 4,750 mm and a wheelbase of 2,730 mm.
