Tata Motors, while renowned for its passenger vehicles, has consistently demonstrated its prowess in the commercial vehicle segment. At the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo, the spotlight shone brightly on the debuts of the new Sierra SUV and the futuristic Avinya Concept X. However, amidst these headline-grabbing unveilings, another intriguing product quietly made its presence felt: the Tata Ace Pro.

This compact commercial vehicle, meticulously designed for last-mile delivery applications, offers a compelling choice between electric and bi-fuel powertrain options, reflecting Tata's commitment to sustainable and efficient transportation solutions.

2025 Tata Ace Zip

The Ace Pro's distinctive cab-over design, while reminiscent of its predecessors – the Tata Ace Zip and Magic Iris – boasts a contemporary refresh. While the core structure, greenhouse, and doors retain a familiar silhouette, the front fascia has undergone a significant transformation. A pair of round halogen headlights, elegantly framed by body-colored accents, are seamlessly connected by a sleek black trim piece. The bumper, housing a modest intake and circular indicators, completes the refreshed front end. Riding on 12-inch steel wheels and sporting a slightly extended wheelbase of 1,800 mm, the Ace Pro exudes a more purposeful stance.

Stepping inside, the dashboard, while retaining a familiar layout, exhibits a noticeable refinement. A 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system takes center stage, perched atop the center console, complemented by a compact digital instrument cluster. The center console itself houses a few essential buttons and a rotary knob for gear selection. Furthermore, the Ace Pro incorporates basic Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features, enhancing safety and convenience for drivers.

Despite the visual similarities with the Ace Zip, Tata emphasizes that the Ace Pro rides on a newly developed and "unique" modular architecture. The electric variant is powered by a robust electric motor that generates a substantial 104 Nm of torque, enabling it to carry a respectable payload of 750 kg. The 14.4 kWh battery pack, coupled with regenerative braking, provides an impressive range of over 155 km on a single charge, making it a viable option for daily delivery routes.

For those seeking greater flexibility, the Ace Pro Bi-Fuel offers a compelling alternative. Equipped with a mid-mounted 694cc two-cylinder engine, this variant seamlessly transitions between CNG and gasoline, delivering a combined range of 280 km between refueling stops. While the engine's output is limited to 26 hp and 51 Nm of torque, it represents a significant improvement over the 11 hp generated by the 611 cc gasoline engine found in the Tata Ace Zip.

While the official market launch date and pricing for both the Ace Pro EV and Ace Pro Bi-Fuel remain undisclosed, Tata Motors has already begun accepting applications of interest in India, signaling an imminent market entry. The introduction of the Ace Pro represents a crucial step in Tata's strategy to expand its presence in the commercial vehicle segment while embracing sustainable and innovative technologies.
