2023 Chevrolet Tahoe RST Performance Edition Revealed At Detroit

The 2023 Tahoe RST Performance Edition was recently unveiled by Chevrolet at the North American International Auto Show. The special edition Tahoe is marketed as the fastest and most potent Tahoe the bowtie brand has ever provided. It boasts a 6.2-liter V8 engine with Chevrolet Performance induction and exhaust systems.

It misses the ferocious Durango and Caddy V's supercharged grunt, but its naturally aspirated engine still generates 433 hp and 633 nm of punch.

The Tahoe's engine allows it to reach a top speed of 200 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in 5.78 seconds. Additionally, the model is 0.2 seconds faster than the RST at 156 km/h for the quarter-mile in 14.2 seconds.

The pursuit-rated Tahoe PPV, a favorite of police departments, shares a lot of components with the upgraded Tahoe PPV, and the performance improvements go beyond the engine compartment. Although it may come as a surprise, the Tahoe PPV has performance-tuned springs and dampers in addition to a stronger stabilizer bar.

The Performance Edition rides 0.4 inches lower up front and 0.8 inches lower in back thanks to the stabilizer bars, springs, and dampers it takes from the Police Pursuit Vehicle.

It also has front discs that are about 25% bigger than those found on the basic RST, as well as Brembo brakes with Torch Red calipers. The model can accelerate from 96-0 km/h in 40.5 meters thanks to them.

Police-spec chassis calibrations and a lowered ride height that is 10 mm lower up front and 20 mm lower in the back are other highlights. The variant likewise has a ten-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, and its towing capability stays the same at 3,447 kg.

The Performance Edition from Chevrolet also comes with the Luxury package's components. That includes features like heated second-row seats, power-folding second and third rows, and a power steering column. It also has additional safety features like enhanced automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and a surround-view camera.

In 2023, only Tahoe RST versions with the 6.2-liter V8 engine will be sold with the Performance Edition package, which has a price of $8,525. The fourth quarter is when production is expected to start, and deliveries should start soon after.
