Lexus has released its 2025 LX SUV lineup, and while the updated models are beginning to arrive at dealerships, potential buyers should be prepared for a significant price increase. The starting MSRP has jumped from $92,915 to $106,850, a substantial difference of $13,935. However, this price hike is somewhat mitigated by the elimination of the previous entry-level trim. The 2025 LX now comes standard in Premium guise, which, while better equipped, still represents a $5,985 increase compared to last year's equivalent model.

The question on everyone's mind is: what justifies this added cost? The 2025 LX Premium offers only a few notable enhancements. These include a newly standard wireless smartphone charger, increased body rigidity for improved handling and ride quality, and new cab mount cushions designed to significantly reduce low-frequency vibrations for a smoother and more refined experience. Engineers have also retuned the steering system, aiming for a more "linear response" without compromising the vehicle's off-road capabilities. While these improvements are welcome, they may not be enough to excite every potential buyer, especially considering the price jump. The LX Premium does come well-equipped with LED lighting, illuminated running boards, a power liftgate with a kick sensor, a moonroof, and 20-inch alloy wheels.
The interior of the LX Premium boasts a plethora of screens, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, and a 7-inch display dedicated to climate controls and the Multi-Terrain Select system. Other interior amenities include a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, and a power-folding third-row. A power tilt and telescoping steering column, a center console-mounted Cool Box, thematic ambient lighting, and a ten-speaker audio system are also standard. In terms of safety, all LX models come equipped with the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 suite, which encompasses All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Road Sign Assist, Intelligent High Beams, and Proactive Driving Assist. Additional standard driver assistance features include Traffic Jam Assist, Front Cross-Traffic Alert, and a Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. The model also features a Panoramic View Monitor, a Multi-Terrain Monitor, and Intuitive Parking Assist with Auto Braking.
Beyond the LX 600 Premium, Lexus offers the LX 600 F Sport Handling and LX 600 Luxury, priced at $113,850 and $115,850, respectively. These trims echo their predecessors but also experience price increases of $6,725 and $6,985. All LX models are powered by a twin-turbo 3.4-liter V6 engine, generating 409 horsepower and 649 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission and a standard four-wheel-drive system with a limited-slip locking center differential. This powertrain enables the luxury SUV to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 6.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 209 km/h. Fuel economy is rated at 17 mpg city, 22 mpg highway, and 19 mpg combined.
The most significant addition to the 2025 LX lineup is the introduction of the LX 700h. Slightly longer than the standard model, the LX 700h features a hybrid powertrain consisting of a twin-turbo 3.4-liter V6 engine, a ten-speed automatic transmission, an electric motor, and a nickel-metal hydride battery. While Lexus hasn't released extensive details about the hybrid powertrain, it boosts total output to 457 horsepower and 790 Nm of torque, resulting in a 0-96 km/h time of 6.4 seconds. Interestingly, fuel economy figures are largely unchanged, with the hybrid achieving 19 mpg city, 22 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined.
The LX 700h starts at $115,350 and comes standard in the Overtrail guise. As its name suggests, the Overtrail is a more rugged variant, equipped with front and rear locking differentials, 18-inch wheels wrapped in 33-inch all-terrain tires, a front skid plate, a matte gray grille, black door handles, dark gray roof rails, dark chrome trim, black fender flares, all-weather floor liners, and a 2,400W AC inverter. The LX 700h is also available in F Sport Handling, Luxury, and Ultra Luxury trims. The Ultra Luxury trim stands out with its four-seat configuration, featuring second-row captain's chairs with heating, ventilation, and massage functions, separated by a center console with a wireless smartphone charger. The right-seat occupant also enjoys a power ottoman for added comfort. The 2025 Lexus LX lineup offers a range of options, from the well-equipped Premium to the rugged Overtrail and luxurious Ultra Luxury, but the price increases across the board may give some potential buyers pause.
