A detuned version of the 2.0-liter turbo engine will be added to Jeep's engine lineup for the Compass in 2023. The newest Dodge Hornet shares the new engine.
The 2.0-liter direct injection turbocharged inline-four engine, which produces 200 horsepower and 300 nm of torque, replaces the 2.4-liter naturally aspirated engine in the 2023 Compass.
This engine will have a 270 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque rating in the Dodge Hornet. In addition, Jeep has discontinued the front-wheel drive model. The new 2.0L turbo is mated to an eight-speed transmission and is now standard across the board.
The Jeep Compass updates for 2023 go beyond the motor. New 17-inch wheels and standard automatic high-beam headlamps for Sport and Latitude models are two additional changes for the Compass that underwent a mid-cycle refresh about a year ago. Additionally, all versions will come with a new rear seat reminder alert that warns the driver when it might be time to get out of the car before putting it in park and turning off the engine.
The Sport, Latitude LUX, Limited, and the tough Trail Rated Trailhawk are among the five different 44 trim configurations that are now available for ordering and will start showing up in dealerships in the first quarter of 2023.
Prices for the 2023 model year Compass will begin at $31,590, which is $1,210 more than in 2022.
