The Mazda CX-60 will soon go on sale in Australia, where a hybrid version will be the only one available. Mazda highlighted the plug-in hybrid system with the CX-60's naturally aspirated 2.5-liter gasoline engine and electric motor, which together produce 323 hp and 500 Nm. Then the 3.3-liter straight-six diesel engine with 251 horsepower and 550 Nm appeared. Both of these are included in the Australian version, along with a gasoline engine that has the same 3.3-liter straight-six configuration and a 48V mild hybrid system that produces 280 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 450 Nm of torque.

The eight-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission and rear-biased i-Activ all-wheel drive system are used with all three powertrains.

In Australia, three model grades will be available: Evolve, GT, and Azami. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, a powered tailgate, exterior powered mirrors with auto-folding, heating, and auto-dimming functions, and advanced keyless entry will be standard across all three grades.

Mazda Australia has also confirmed that 18-inch to 20-inch wheels will be available, as well as a new shade of white known as Rhodium, which will be available across all grades.

It's uncertain whether the type of fuel will make a difference, as it does for the Mazda3 Turbo, but a different tune may mean more power for North America.

Later this year, complete details regarding the Mazda CX-60 in Australia will be released.
