A new special trim called "Triton Sport Edition" that will be produced in 400 units for Down Under was introduced by Mitsubishi as part of the debut of the 2023 MY range of the Triton pickup in Australia.
The GLS Deluxe trim with Dual Cab body style serves as the foundation for the limited edition, which differs from the rest of the lineup thanks to a number of stylistic cues. In contrast to the chrome dynamic shield, the grille, mirror caps, alloy wheels, and rear bumper all received black themes. Red highlights may also be seen on the side steps, rear bumper, and front skid plate.
The interior seats have black leather upholstery with red stitching. The Sport Edition includes heated front seats, power driver seat adjustments, Mitsubishi's multi-around monitor, and leather door inserts, precisely like the GLS Deluxe pack on which it is based. In addition, the GLX level will now come standard with black side steps, while the GLX-R and GLS trims will have an upgraded audio system with a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen.
The 2.4-liter gasoline engine, which Mitsubishi likewise stopped making and was only offered with the Triton GLX Single Cab Chassis, has also been retired. Therefore, the 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine that generates 178 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque is now standard on all Triton versions.
A six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission transfers power to the rear or to all four wheels.
The 2023 Mitsubishi Triton is already in production, and the first deliveries are planned for December 2022.
The entry-level Triton GLX Single Cab 42 manual costs AU$30,740, and the top-of-the-line Triton GSR Double Cab 44 automatic costs AU$64,640. The Triton Sport Edition is only available in 44 automatic configurations and costs AU$56,440.
