After unveiling the redesigned Silverado 1500 last year, Chevrolet is now focusing on the Silverado HD. The 2024 Silverado HD has undergone significant updates, including new looks, an improved diesel engine, enhanced capabilities, and an entirely new interior on models targeted toward consumers.
The truck has an evolutionary front end with pronounced C-shaped LED daytime running lights, starting from the outside. The controversial front clip of the Silverado HD with the large grille slicing through the headlight has been softened. Chevrolet essentially reversed the C-shaped daytime running lamps from the GMC Sierra.
On LTZ, ZR2 and High Country models, dual-projector headlamps with a simple design join them.
Updated taillights and an animated lighting sequence are also available to customers. Additionally, six additional hues are available: Meteorite Metallic, Sterling Gray, Dark Ash, Radiant Red, and Auburn Metallic.
There aren't many more modifications, but the truck now sports a new grille and a more assertive front bumper.
The interior of the 2024 Silverado HD tells the true tale. The inside has undergone more significant alterations, with the LT and higher trims sporting an all new interior with a contemporary design, better materials, and upgraded technology. You will receive a fully redesigned dash with a customisable 12.3-inch digital driver display if you choose at least the LT trim level. Google Maps and Google Assistant are available to owners. Other highlights include an updated center console with a wireless smartphone charger, a contemporary dashboard, and better switchgear.
The top-of-the-line High Country is a true luxury pickup with leather-wrapped surfaces and real wood trim.
Embroidered headrests and exclusive Ares leather front seats with heating and ventilation are further pleasures. A seven-speaker Bose audio system, stainless steel speaker grilles, and contrast stitching connect them.
For towing, the 2019 Silverado HD receives adaptive cruise control. It is intended to take into consideration the additional weight of a trailer in order to maintain an adequate safe distance from vehicles in front. To support gooseneck trailers, the Transparent Trailer technology has been enhanced. With a head-up display option, drivers may maintain their focus on the road while using the expanded area of the trailer blind zone alert.
You may still choose between a 6.6-liter gasoline V8 or a 6.6-liter Duramax diesel engine under the hood. The 6.6-liter Duramax retains the gasoline engine but gains from an upgraded turbocharger and enhanced combustion.
These modifications have increased the diesel's output by 25 horsepower and 88 Nm to 470 horsepower and 1,320 Nm of torque.
The gas engine's gross combined weight rating can now be increased to 11,793 kg thanks to the Allison 10-speed automatic transmission, which has become the industry standard.
Speaking of expanded skills, Chevrolet concentrated on enhancing the towing experience with a number of fresh and updated innovations. Adaptive Cruise Control with Trailer Support is one of the most appreciated.
On September 29, the Texas State Fair will host the public debut of the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD. Beginning in the first half of 2023, production will start. Pricing information will be released nearer the time of manufacturing.
Chevrolet announced intentions to release a brand-new ZR2 model. Details will be made available later, although the design is most likely to emulate the Silverado 1500 ZR2. Additionally, Chevrolet will provide a brand-new Midnight Edition based on the top High Country trim. It has a black power assist side step, black badging, and a black chrome grille. Customers can also buy gloss black 20- or 22-inch wheels.
