Chevrolet unveiled the 2024 Equinox EV this year, continuing its streak of electric vehicle launches. With the 483-kilometer-long 2024 Equinox EV, Chevrolet is now doing away with compromises.
When Chevrolet unveiled the Equinox EV for the first time in January, we were astounded by its sleek appearance.
It's interesting that the automobile has flush-mounted door handles as standard equipment because they are uncommon in this price range. They provide the crossover a sleek design and a premium appearance in addition to aiding in improving aerodynamics.
The electric Equinox is roughly 25.4 mm lower and about 2.3 70 mm wider than the current combustion-powered Equinox. The LT and RS grades of the Equinox are offered. The LT has a front fascia that is body color. The nose of the RS has black mesh.
An 11-inch digital instrument panel and an 11-inch infotainment screen are included on the Equinox EV's lowest 1LT level. In addition to automated emergency braking, following distance indicator, front collision alert, lane maintain assist, automatic headlamps, and rear park assist, all models offer a safety tech suite.
A heated steering wheel, heated front seats, and an eight-way motorized driver seat are included when upgrading to the 2LT. On the exterior, an LED light bar is located on the nose just below the hood. High-tech options for this model include an infotainment screen with a 17.7-inch display, adaptive cruise control, and even the Super Cruise advanced driver assistance system.
The heated and ventilated front seats, heated back seats, and six-way motorized passenger seats make the 3LT and 3RS more opulent. Additionally, buyers will discover a standard 17.7-inch infotainment system, a heated steering wheel, and a two-zone temperature control system. A sunroof and a Bose audio system are options, while a presence-based motorized liftgate is another standout feature.
The top-of-the-line 3RS has 21-inch wheels and flat-bottom steering. Customers have the option to add the 19.2 kW level 2 charger to their existing head-up display, Bose radio, and Super Cruise packages.
The cargo floor has two levels, allowing it to either be flush with the hatch opening or lower. When the back seat is folded, there are 1,614 liters of maximum load space.
Chevrolet did not provide exact details, but they did clarify that a variety of powertrains will be available for the Equinox EV. The entry-level 1LT, which provides front- or all-wheel drive and both standard and extended-range batteries, gets things started.
The electric crossover can sustain 11.5 kW of level 2 AC charging. This amount is increased to 19.2 kW for the 3RS eAWD as an optional upgrade. The maximum DC fast charging power is 150 kW.
The 3RS eAWD with the 19.2 kW level 2 charger has the added benefit of being able to send up to 3 kW of power. When not operating the vehicle, owners could use this to power camping equipment and other electric items.
Variants with front-wheel drive have a single electric motor that produces about 210 horsepower and 327 Nm of torque. In addition to enhancing all-weather traction, the dual-motor all-wheel drive system increases output to 290 horsepower and 469 Nm of torque.
On a single charge, the crossover's basic battery allows for a distance of about 402 kilometers. With the extended range battery, it rises to 483 km, but with all-wheel drive, it falls to 451 km.
With the standard 11.5 kW Level 2 charging capability, owners may acquire up to 55 km of range for every hour of charge. On the longest-range Equinox EV 3RS, which has a Level 2 charging capacity of 19.2 kW, it rises to 82 km/h.
The 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV will first be offered as a limited edition and will be accessible in the fall of 2023. The entry-level 1LT trim will be the last to go on sale; nevertheless, the entire lineup is expected to appear within a year.
The 2RS trim goes on sale first when it debuts in the fall of 2023. Later, the low-cost 1LT with a starting price of about $30,000 will be available.
