2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee Is Not Available With V8 Anymore!

Jeep has announced a series of changes to its 2025 Grand Cherokee lineup, including price reductions and trim level streamlining. While the automaker claims to be "enhancing affordability," the reality is a bit more nuanced.

One of the most significant changes is the discontinuation of the entry-level Laredo A trim. As a result, the base price for the two-row Grand Cherokee has increased to $37,035. The lineup has also been simplified, with the Laredo X, Altitude, Altitude X, and Summit Reserve trims being removed.

On the positive side, Jeep has reduced the prices of several trims. The Limited trim now starts at $42,905, a $3,000 decrease from the previous year. Similarly, the Overland trim has seen a price drop of $4,000, now starting at $56,995. The Summit trim has also been reduced by $4,000, now priced at $58,560.

The three-row Grand Cherokee L has also experienced price reductions. The base model starts at $39,035, a slight decrease from the previous year. The Limited, Overland, and Summit trims have seen more substantial price cuts of $3,000 and $4,000.

The plug-in hybrid Grand Cherokee 4xe lineup remains largely unchanged, with prices starting at $60,490. However, the Anniversary Edition and Summit Reserve trims have been discontinued.

While Jeep has not explicitly mentioned any additional changes, it's clear that the V8 engine has been dropped from the lineup. The standard powertrain for most models is now a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, producing 293 horsepower and 352 Nm of torque. For those seeking a more eco-friendly option, the Grand Cherokee 4xe remains a compelling choice. This plug-in hybrid combines a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and a 17.3 kWh battery pack. This setup delivers a combined output of 375 horsepower and 637 Nm of torque, along with an electric-only range of 40 kilometers.

While the 2025 Grand Cherokee offers some price reductions and trim level simplifications, the overall picture is a bit more complex. The discontinuation of the entry-level trim and the price increases for some models may offset the savings for some buyers.
