At the company's Polestar Day in Los Angeles, California, the eagerly anticipated Polestar 5 was finally revealed in manufacturing form. Over the previous two years, the Geely-backed automaker has been developing and teasing the 5.
Split headlights up front resemble those of the Polestar 4, and despite the lack of a grille, the 5 has some flair thanks to the curved and angular lines that run over the front. Although its practicality on the road is still to be determined, this makes the sedan stand out from the competitors. Alongside a black bumper is a huge LED light bar.
All we know is that the Polestar 5 runs on an 800-volt electric architecture and generates 900 Nm of torque and 872 horsepower from its two electric motors.
Polestar has revealed that it is working with StoreDot to build incredibly quick charging batteries that can provide 100 miles of range in five minutes or less without causing battery deterioration. Although it is unclear if the 2025 model will be released with this battery technology, the new battery will be tested in a 5 prototype.
The event featured all of the brand's vehicles, including the Polestar 2 for 2024, the Polestar 3, the Polestar 4, the Polestar Electric Roadster Concept, the Polestar Precept that served as the model for the 5, and the Polestar Synergy. In addition to taking passenger rides in the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, attendees had the opportunity to test drive the updated Polestar 2.
