2025 Porsche Cayenne GTS Revealed With Enhanced Twin-Turbo V8 Engine

It has been a full year since Porsche rolled out updates to the third-generation Cayenne lineup, but one key member has been notably absent. Now, the 2025 Cayenne GTS reclaims its position in both standard and Coupe body styles, boasting significant upgrades including an enhanced twin-turbo V8 engine, a more responsive suspension setup, sportier design elements, and a plethora of additional standard features.

While it may not match the sheer power of the Turbo S E-Hybrid or the track-focused nature of the Turbo GT, the GTS (Gran Turismo Sport) occupies a distinctive niche in the Cayenne lineup, offering a blend of driver-focused performance and everyday practicality.

The GTS inherits the redesigned elements introduced across the rest of the updated Cayenne range, but it incorporates unique touches to evoke a subtle sporty character. Notably, it features GTS-specific bumper intakes reminiscent of those found on the Turbo GT, complemented by tinted lighting units. Subtle GTS emblems adorn the doors and tailgate, while the dark bronze finish on the tailpipes adds a touch of elegance.

Enhancing its athletic stance are the high-gloss black accents of the standard Sport Design Package, replacing the body-colored trim of previous GTS iterations. Additionally, a set of 21-inch RS Spyder Design alloy wheels finished in anthracite, paired with red brake calipers, completes the exterior aesthetic of the Cayenne GTS. For added dynamism, the Cayenne GTS Coupe boasts an adaptive rear spoiler. Moreover, customers have the option to select one of three Lightweight Sport Packages, which can reduce weight by up to 25 kg, further enhancing performance.

The highlight of the updated version lies in the extensively revised twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, now delivering 493 horsepower and 660 Nm of torque. This represents a healthy increase of 40 horsepower and 40 Nm over the outgoing Cayenne GTS, while still maintaining a clear distinction from the Cayenne S, which employs a 468 horsepower variant of the same engine.

Exclusively paired with an eight-speed Tiptronic S automatic gearbox, the twin-turbo V8 sends power to all four wheels through the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) system. Similar to the setup in the Turbo GT, the PTM system incorporates a separate cooling circuit, enhancing durability during spirited driving.

The power bump results in slight improvements in performance, with the Cayenne GTS now capable of accelerating from 0 to 96 km/h in 4.2 seconds and reaching a top speed of 275 km/h.

The standard two-chamber air suspension with adaptive dampers receives a GTS-specific setup, lowering the vehicle by 10 mm compared to regular versions. Handling is further refined by the increased negative camber of the front wheels, with pivot bearings sourced from the Turbo GT. While the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control active roll stabilization system is optional, the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus is included as standard.
