BMW has officially revealed a new fully electric SUV called iX and it is going to be considered as a flagship model among BMW’s electric cars.
We has shown you a digital rendering from BMW iX last week and now the actual design is here in front of us.
In terms of exterior, the iX is almost in the same size as the BMW X5 but with bigger wheels, lower height and more futuristic design. The massive kidney grille can be seen here as well but rather than providing enough air for the engine it hosts lots of sensors, camera and radars related to driver assistance technologies.
At the rear the design is more conventional and the main highlights are muscular bumper and sleek tail lights.
Inside the cabin there are hexagonal steering wheels, electric seat controls on the door panels, electric gear knob and two big screens.
Underpinning the latest electric BMW there is a dual electric motor with more than 500 hp that is enough to hit 100 kph in less than 5 seconds.
BMW iX also uses a massive 100 kWh battery pack that can provide about 482 km of driving range according to the EPA and 600 km of driving range according to WLTP.
BMW iX also supports a 200 kW DC charger that can charge up to 70 percent of the battery in 40 minutes. A quick charging capability also can provide 120 km of driving range by charging the battery for 10 minutes.
It is predicted that the BMW iX will launch in the market by the end of 2021.
