Car Dashboard Symbols And Meanings

Author: |

When something goes wrong with your car or a feature you should be aware of is activated, a signal is routed through the electrical system and into the dashboard.

Keep in mind that when you turn on your car and perform a system check, many of these dashboard lights will briefly illuminate. Everything is fine as long as the lights go out for a brief period of time.

The symbols on your dashboard may differ slightly from those on our list because every car is unique. If unsure, refer to the owner's manual for your car.

Not all of the icons on your dashboard correspond to warning lights. Some are associated with car attributes.

Understanding color meanings is crucial when it comes to dashboard lighting. Simply put, green or blue lights indicate that a system is on or in use. Generally speaking, orange or yellow warning lights indicate that your car needs maintenance or repairs soon. The urgency of these warnings is lower than it would be if you had a red or flashing light. A red light indicates that you need to move quickly! Red dashboard lights can indicate mechanical problems or safety warnings.

Now here in car review magazine we are going to take a look at some of the most important lights that might appear in your instrument cluster.
