At the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, Chery introduced the latest addition to its lineup: the Jetour Shanhai L7. This mid-sized SUV boasts a plugin hybrid system and offers versatility with options for either five or seven seats. One of its standout features is its innovative three-screen configuration inside the cabin.
Powered by Chery's Kunpeng plugin hybrid system, or C-DM, the Shanhai L7 combines a 1.5T four-cylinder engine generating 156 horsepower with an electric motor. While specific details regarding the electric motor and the capacity of the Gotion battery pack remain undisclosed, the SUV achieves a top speed of 180 km/h.
The Shanhai series, initiated by Jetour last year with the L9 model, represents a commitment to new energy vehicles within the Chery brand. The L7 sports a sleek, fully enclosed front fascia accented by daytime running lights and a subtle strip where the hood meets the body. Stylish cutouts in the front bumper house the lights, while a black-trimmed air intake with chrome embellishments adorns the lower bumper.
Although both the five-seater and seven-seater variants share similar design elements, there are slight discrepancies in size. The five-seater model measures 4760 mm in length, while its seven-seater counterpart stretches slightly longer at 4785 mm. The disparity continues to the wheelbases, with measurements of 2720 mm and 2745 mm, respectively. However, both versions maintain identical widths and heights at 1900 mm and 1720 mm, respectively. At the rear, through taillights illuminate the road, and the Shanhai insignia, along with the C-DM badge, proudly adorn the vehicle.
Inside the showcased L7, a sophisticated interior scheme featuring white and blue hues with lattice embroidery exudes elegance. The centerpiece of the cabin is a sizable dual-screen setup seamlessly integrating an instrument panel and infotainment unit. Below, a climate control screen, ingeniously incorporating tactile dials, adds a touch of modernity to the design.
