Ferrari is coming up with a new monster. The F171 is the code name for this speedy car. The first F171 will be debuted at 24th of June. But more importantly, is the living unit under the hood. It has a force-fed V6, which is much likely as the McLaren’s Artura.
The F171 can be the right replacement for the Dino series back in 1960s and 70s. the real surprise is its 3.0-liter engine. This big 6-cylinder engine has about 590 hp of output, just like the Artura. By getting much more detailed on this engine, each Cylinder banks has 120-degrees of angel, as it’s an even-firing V6, so the crankshafts would be just in the right places. on the other hand, the geeky stuff is connected to a shorter crankshaft, so each pair of connecting rods share the same crank journal.
This type of engine designing has other advantages too. They need less piping and also, the pressure reduction loss is impressively lower. More importantly, the maximum torque can be extended.
Even this engine is one of the bests, but its not the best. Maserati has already a V6 in its MC20 supercar. That produces 621 hp and 730 Nm of torque. So, the way out for this Ferrari is having an electric motor to boost the engine. Its not a regular hybrid. The electric motor is connected to a plug-in system.
So, if we could add the electric motor’s power to the whole engine power, the result is 700 hp with PHEV assistance. And, when the car goes under full electric condition, it can travel up to 30 kilometers. The debut starts at 24th of June. And jet no confirmed news of the price tags.
