Dacia Duster Redust Sport Arrives

The Dacia Duster has achieved remarkable success in the European automotive market, captivating consumers with its robust design, spacious interior, and exceptional affordability. Its popularity has been so profound that it recently surpassed the Tesla Model Y to claim the title of Europe's best-selling car in 2024. However, for those seeking a more dynamic aesthetic and a road-biased stance, without completely abandoning the Duster's budget-friendly principles, the German dealership Carpoint has introduced the Redust Sport edition.

This unofficial Dacia Duster RS, cleverly named Redust Sport to avoid trademark conflicts with Renault Sport, initially materialized as a series of digital renderings several months ago. Now, with tangible examples gracing public roads, it's evident that Carpoint has delivered on its ambitious promises, offering a comprehensive suite of visual enhancements.

The Redust Sport builds upon the foundation laid by Carpoint's previous-generation Duster modifications, featuring a lowered ride height achieved through KW coilover suspension, 20-inch alloy wheels, and wheel spacers. The new body kit takes the aggressive styling to an even greater extreme, incorporating a prominent hood scoop, widened fenders that add 20 mm to the vehicle's width, deeper side skirts, a rear spoiler, and the removal of the roof rails to create a sleeker profile.

To emphatically emphasize the "sporty" transformation, Carpoint has installed a centrally mounted dual-exhaust system, a feature typically associated with high-performance vehicles or supercars, rather than an affordable SUV. This unexpected inclusion significantly elevates the Duster's visual appeal. As a finishing touch, the bodywork has been wrapped in a vibrant orange hue, contrasted by a glossy black finish for the plastic cladding and custom covers for the rear side windows.

The interior of the Dacia Duster Redust Sport further amplifies the dramatic styling. Leather seats adorned with bright orange inserts and stitching evoke the opulence of high-end custom builds from manufacturers like Mansory. The same orange theme permeates the dashboard, steering wheel, center console, and door panels, all illuminated by customizable RGB ambient lighting reminiscent of a gaming keyboard.

Despite its aggressive exterior and interior modifications, the Redust Sport does not incorporate any performance enhancements. The model showcased here is powered by Renault's self-charging hybrid system, producing 138 horsepower. A second variant, based on the 1.3 TCe mild-hybrid engine with 128 horsepower and all-wheel drive, is also available. This version features a distinct set of five-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels and a matte black wrap, with interior modifications limited to Velour floor mats. Both Redust Sport versions are based on the Duster Extreme, the top-tier trim level that already boasts a generous array of standard equipment.

For those desiring the most visually striking Duster available, a premium price tag is to be expected. The mild-hybrid versions are priced at €42,490, while the hybrid variant commands a substantial €52,990. These prices reflect the extensive modifications and exclusive nature of the Redust Sport edition, positioning it as a unique and highly personalized iteration of the popular Dacia Duster.
