The plug-in hybrid S580e 4MATIC will be available at American dealerships later this year, according to Mercedes. Pricing will begin at $122,550, which is $15,150 more than the electric EQS 450 4MATIC and $8,050 more than the S500 4MATIC.
The plug-in hybrid powertrain of the S580e 4MATIC is made up of a 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbocharged engine, an electric motor, and a 21.5 kWh battery pack. With this configuration, the premium car can produce a combined 510 horsepower and 749 Nm of torque.
Performance-wise, the vehicle will accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in 5.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h. Although the car's EPA mileage is yet unknown, Mercedes indicated that the model has a WLTP mileage of more than 100 kilometers in Europe.
A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.8-inch infotainment system, a 15-speaker Burmester surround sound system, and Nappa leather multicontour front seats with heating, ventilation, and massaging features might all be included in the sedan's kit list. Power rear sunshades, soft-close doors, and an Air Balance fragrance system can also be included as standard equipment.
The S580e 4MATIC, according to Mercedes, will come with the "highest level of standard equipment," which includes an AirMatic air suspension. The Mercedes-Maybach S-rear Class's seat features and E-Active Body Control are among the options available to customers.
