Beginning in 2024, DS Automobiles will produce solely electric automobiles. This is one year sooner than the French manufacturer had intended, and four years earlier than other Stellantis-owned brands.
The news came as Stellantis presented its half-year results, in which the firm stated that all sectors were profitable, with an average margin of 11.4 percent. The company previously said that it will transition to all-electric vehicles in 2025, with other Stellantis-owned companies, notably Vauxhall-Opel, following suit in 2028.
DS presently sells a number of electrified vehicles, including the all-electric DS 3 Crossback and E-Tense.
"Our ambition is very clear: for DS to be among the global leaders in electrified cars in its segment. not happy with the brand’s sales performance in the UK, but was confident new models could provide a springboard into a very large and competitive,”
said DS’s CEO, Yves Bonnefont, in 2018.
Stellantis is accelerating its EV approach, with plans to introduce 11 battery-electric cars and ten plug-in hybrid vehicles in the next 24 months.
