DS9 is a luxury sedan by Citroen’s gold brand “DS” that is recently introduced for the Chinese market and now the French automaker stated that the pre-sale price will kick off from 299,999 Yuan. While DS is making DS9 in China it is going to go on sale in the global market as well.
Design-wise, DS9 shows a stylish front facia flanked by its large grille and boomerang-style LED daytime running lights. The car also has the DS ACTIVE LED VISION headlights that can provide 5 different lighting methods.
From the side, there are hidden door handles that can improve aerodynamics while at the rear, there are extended chrome lines under the taillights.
DS9 measures 4.9 meters long which put it in the same size as Hyundai Azera or Toyota Avalon.
As you open the doors you’ll quickly notice that the interior design is almost the same as DS7 SUV and there are just some small changes. DS9 also comes with L2 level driving assistance systems alongside night vision, driver monitoring, active lighting, blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, and extended traffic sign recognition systems.
Under the hood, DS9 uses a 1.6-liter turbocharged plug-in hybrid engine with a combined power of 228 hp connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
In a WLTP cycle, it can run 50 km on its EV mode with a top speed of 135 km/h. For those groups of buyers who are not interested in PHEV powertrains, DS offers a 1.8-liter turbocharged engine in the Chinese market that can produce 215 hp.
Other highlights are the DS ACTIVE SCAN SUSPENSION system and fast chagrin function that can fully charge batteries in 1.5 hours.
