Author: |

VinFast has recently unveiled a plethora of intriguing details regarding its forthcoming VF 3 model, set to make its debut in Vietnam. With a starting price tag of $9,428 sans battery and $12,650 inclusive of it, the VF 3 introduces a spectrum of pricing options to cater to various preferences.

Beyond the pricing spectrum, the VF 3 boasts an extensive array of color choices, comprising four standard shades and an additional five options. Should none of these color choices strike a chord with potential buyers, a customized color option is available at an extra cost of $589.

Under the hood, power emanates from a rear-mounted electric motor, generating a modest 43 horsepower and 110 Newton-meters of torque. Despite these relatively modest figures, the crossover achieves a respectable 0-50 km/h acceleration time of 5.3 seconds.

However, the VF 3's acceleration might not qualify as swift for some, attributed in part to its compact 18.64 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Nevertheless, this battery configuration permits the model to journey up to 210 kilometers on a single charge in the NEDC cycle. Moreover, the battery showcases impressive charging capabilities, capable of replenishing from 10% to 70% charge in a mere 36 minutes when depleted.

While VinFast has remained reticent on certain specifications, notable features of the VF 3 include a generous ground clearance of 191 millimeters, complemented by aerodynamically optimized 16-inch wheels, plastic body cladding, and sleek blacked-out pillars.

Dimensionally, the VF 3 measures 3,190 millimeters in length, 1,679 millimeters in width, and 1,622 millimeters in height, boasting a wheelbase spanning 2,075 millimeters. To contextualize these dimensions, the VF 3 stands 441 millimeters shorter than the Fiat 500e.

Interior details remain somewhat elusive, although the cabin appears to feature a prominent 10-inch display, potentially serving as both a digital instrument cluster and an infotainment system. This display is complemented by a minimalist two-spoke steering wheel, streamlined controls, and subtle pops of color. Additionally, buyers can expect a rear seat that conveniently folds down to furnish 285 liters of cargo space.

In other VinFast news, the VF 8 model is set to integrate Sony’s RIDEVU streaming video service, offering access to a vast library of over 2,000 movies. However, this entertainment feature is accessible solely when the vehicle is stationary.

For customers opting for a battery subscription, VinFast presents three distinct plans tailored to varying driving needs. The entry-level plan, priced at $35, caters to individuals driving fewer than 1,500 kilometers monthly, while the top-tier $79 plan targets those exceeding 2,500 kilometers monthly.

Notably, RIDEVU is complimentary for the initial 12 months and forms part of the VF Connect Prime package, enhancing the overall ownership experience of the VF 3.
